The Michool board held its regular monthly meeting at the high school with President presiding. Treasurer reported a balance of 32166.73 on Jan 1 1933 after December receipts of 8409.21 and expenditures. Bills totaling 885.98 were approved. Tax collection costs for December were 40 and uncollectible amounts 1413.32 were exonerated. Miss Kindt’s leave of absence extended 24 of the term due to illness. class duties remain unfilled. The Eagle of Immanuel I church Allentown announced meetings with preaching and singing events on Thursday and Friday evenings and Rev Eagle to conduct next meetings except Saturday.
The Nazareth National Bank and Trust Co. re-elected directors at the stockholders meeting. Frank H. Schmidt was elected president and trust officer, with John A. Miller vice president, Joseph Brabston secretary, Fred D. Heckman cashier, and Eugene D. Trein asst. cashier. Schmidt has served 35 years, steering growth to deposits of 4.6 million and trusts totaling 1.2 million. The board honored early leaders Dr. Thomas Cope and Mark T. Swartz.
Northampton County farmers plan to attend the State Farm Products Show in Harrisburg January 16 21 and may secure reduced railroad rates with special certificates from County Agent B L Coleman The show program lists livestock and crop judging starting Monday and continues through the week Exhibits were sent from the Agricultural Extension Office urging arrival by Saturday January 14 via express or parcel post Entries include swine from George W Buss W H Schlegel and F G Fogel Percherons from State Hospital Farms Weaversville and Belgians from Willow Brook Farms Sheep entries include L F Nicholas Mt Bethel and 18 lamb club members in Upper Mt Bethel and Lower Nazareth Townships
Temple 10 G Of E met in Eagle Hall with Noble Templar Hannah Daniels presiding. Officers were installed by District Grand Templar Martha Reineheimer, with Helen Shafer named new noble templar and a series of committees named by her, including refreshment entertainment and auditing. Past Grand Templar Flora Frick of Bethlehem attended as a visitor.
Approximately 260 children of school and pre-school ages received diphtheria immunization at a Lions Club sponsored clinic held in the schools. Dr. J. A. Fraunfelder and nurse Josephine Kreider led the effort. The final clinic is planned for next Wednesday January 18. Also noted was the January 7 anniversary of the transatlantic telephone link between New York and London.
January Wo man's Club gathering in the High School auditorium featured Chief One Star of the Cherokee nation. He discussed "The American Indian of Today and Yesterday," recalling tradition, life on reservations, and changes after government oversight.
The Daughters of America met Tuesday with Councilor Carrie Holland presiding. Agnes Bachman and Flora Frick from Allentown attended. Installation of officers occurred with pins awarded to Carrie Holland and Ada Knecht. Committees were named for entertainment, social, serving, and delinquent roles. An annual degree team banquet is planned January 18 at the American Hotel with attendance urged by January 16.
Mrs. Eugene Trein of Nazareth displays her twenty fifth annual Christmas putz themed The Life of Moses with biblical atmosphere and electric tableaux. She narrates a detailed accompanying story, continuing a series of elaborate displays noted since four years past.

Bangor based Apollo Male Chorus will perform during the regular church service at St John’s Reformed Church on Sunday evening January 22. The Welsh singers are famed in the area for sacred music and the public is invited to attend the concert portion of the service.
More than 50 Washington Township farmers met at Flicksville School House to discuss the Area Plan for TB Eradication. Dr. Henry W. Turner and Dr. Clarkson outlined testing status, County Agent B. J. Coleman led questions, and a committee was elected to organize cattle owners and sign up for tests, with a follow up meeting set for January 16.
Miss Anne Vlachos was elected supervisor of the Northampton County Branch of the Pennsylvania Association for the Blind. She will base in Bethlehem at the Bethlehem Trust Company office and has prior leadership in New York Philadelphia and Johns Hopkins Hospital social work. The branch supports blindness prevention and education, with local children benefiting from eye exams and glasses.
The Rotary club gathered Monday at the Y M C A with president William Silfies presiding. Guest speaker Prof. Carl Ziegler of Lafayette College spoke on Education From a New Point of View and the Universality of Education at the Present Time, noting education prepares for knowledge beyond the classroom and serves the whole person, including civic and economic aspects.
Mr and Mrs Charles Ackerman of Flicksville celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary at home with turkey dinner and entertainment by Lavine Miller Arline Reagle and Henry Lerch. The couple wed January 4 1908 at Nazareth by Rev Asa E Erdman. Attendants included George Miller Nazareth sister of Mrs Ackerman and family friends from Nazareth Flicksville and Belfast with guests listed.
Knights of Friendship held a meeting in Hal with the installation of officers led by W Moyer Jr from Cat. Thomas chamber. Former Grand Champion Williams and William Moyer Jr spoke. new officers include Wilbert Hack Lester Laubach Monroe Davidson Arthur Getz Clarence Weaver Jonathan Kech Allen D. Nazareth High School staff and supervising principal Prof F A Marcks along with Miss Florence Nicholas held an open forum at 3 15 in the school library. The first in a series on the economy plan discussed classroom and homework assignment. The next session will focus on Matterials.
Attendance and enrollment figures show December totals across grades and the continuation school, with high attendance percentages. Illness caused a two day closure for the Cont. school, and fire drills occurred in two buildings. No time lost to accidents and substitute absences noted, nurse absent with grippe. Anti-Diphtheria inoculations began January 4 with 275 children vaccinated across four stations. Institute substitute work progresses with two two-hour meetings planned for teachers, outlining study subjects.
About seventy five members of camp 20 Sons of Veterans Auxiliary gathered Friday in the Shafer building to mark the group’s 12th anniversary. Members gave extemporaneous speeches, Mrs. Henrietta Abel received a plant for faithful service, and a program included songs, readings, and musical numbers. A delegation planned to visit Edwin Koehler on his birthday as dancing and cards closed the evening.
