The Women’s Democratic Club met at Shafer’s Hall Belvidere Street on Tuesday evening led by president Mrs Kenneth Barrall. Minutes of the prior meeting were approved and the Birthday Ball report by general chair Mrs Victor Edelman was read. The club thanked donors assisting the fight against gar integer paralysis. Mrs Jacob Boerstler was named survey chairman and Mrs Charles Earle as press agent. A social hour followed.

Bath Council Purchases Fire Engine
During a monthly session the Bath Borough Council voted to buy a new fire engine and modern equipment, awarding the contract to Hahn Motor Co of Hamburg for 5100 dollars. The 500 gallon pumper and 150 gallon booster tank truck will be built to council specs with delivery in 60 to 90 days. Nine bidders offered prices from 3200 to 6500 dollars. the Hahn engine was chosen by close vote after elimination of undesired types. The council also passed the 1938 budget setting the millage at 10 mills, as in recent years.
