Baby Contest Votes To Take Drop Saturday February 12

Tuesday evening’s Popular Baby Contest count tightens the race for the silver loving cup and $150 in cash. Leaders set a fast pace and any contestant could lead in the next count as interest grows among families and neighbors. The next showing is Friday evening February 4 at 8 o’clock after which results will be published.

Keen Interest Stimulated in Choral Society

Attendance was strong at Nasareth Choral Society rehearsals at the Y. Under new director Ellis Schneebeli work began on short selections for the Sprint Concert in May. The group seeks many male voices and will feature the Glo-Worm ballad for mixed voices. membership remains open. Officers of the Parent Teachers Association plan a February 17 program with Girl and Boy Scouts participating.

President's Birthday Ball Draws Hundreds at Odd Fellows

Several hundred people attended the Presidents Birthday Ball in the Odd Fellows building hosted by the Womens Democratic Club on Saturday night. Nazareth Item Popular Baby Contest Entries Open

Readers are invited to vote for their babies in the Nazareth Item contest. Ballots are collected at the contest headquarters and at participating stores. The fifth counting will occur Friday February 4 at 8 p m. Baby entries listed alphabetically as of Wednesday noon with cash prize planned for March 2.

Cement Plant Mural Prominently Hangs in Nazareth Post Office

A large oil mural by Ruth Ludins of New York City now decorates Nazareth’s post office wall, depicting a modern cement plant from quarry to kiln. The eleven by four foot work traveled weeks of study, was applied with an assistant, and will receive varnish coats after drying to symbolize Nazareth’s chief industry.

Second Semester students at Nazareth schools started Tuesday. Holidays planned for the term include Washington's Birthday February 22 Easter holidays April 14 to 18 and Memorial Day May 30. The term ends June 22 with 22 February school days, 23 in March, 18 in April, 21 in May and 16 in June.

George A Sundberg began in banking at Corn Exchange Bank and Trust Co New York City after six years in various departments he joined International Acceptance Bank of New York City. Foreign Missions Sunday in Moore Township Charge
