The Northampton County Branch of the Federal Farm Loan Association met at the MCA building last week. A speaker from the Federal Land Bank discussed the 1937 Farm Act and organizers announced future meetings will include door prizes to boost farmer interest and attendance on vital topics.
A new hospital and sanatorium called The Miracle of Nasa reth is to be built in Nasareth within months. Five representatives of the building group are in Nasareth to select a site and grounds. The hospital will treat general cases and focus on baffling ailments with a new type of treatment.
Nazareth Rod and Gun Club held a regular meeting in the Legion Home with Roy Kostenbader presiding. Fourteen members discussed future activities and announced a shooting match at the Nazareth Fair Grounds on December 5 starting at 1 30 p m. Prizes include chickens ducks geese and turkeys. Field Captain Leonard Shoenaberger said factory loaded shells and splash boards plus individual blocks will be used. If you want a turkey for Christmas this is your chance.
The Plainfield club held nominations at 7 30 P M with Ellen Schoch as President Hannah Bonstein as Vice President Carrie Boerstler as Recording Secretary Ethel Barre as Secretary and Grace Barrall as Treasurer An Auditing Committee was named and the evening featured a play and pageant by the Plainfield Choir directed by Kathryn Lehr Carling The choir will perform Why The Chimes Rang at Plainfield Church on Sunday night December 16.
Annual Christmas Carol Services will be held Sunday December 16 at 3 oclock in the Wasareth High Auditorium. The program includes school orchestra and choir selections, sacred carols, tableaux, and a Christmas hymn set.
Paul P. Miller hosted a dessert bridge and variety shower in Easton in honor of Miss Marian Krumnacher and her approaching marriage to Mr Hanns Hornschuch on December 17. Guests listed include Mrs James Donovan and Miss Henrietta MacPherson among others from Easton Bethlehem Phillipsburg Teaneck and nearby areas.
The Rural Talent Fete featured three group performances including You Listening directed by George Heller with Mae Steckel and Olin Watts among cast. The Raubsville group presented The Singapore Spider, and the Well Worth While Society Folks Church offered A Sign Unto You with cast and crew listed.
The Nazareth Moravian Church organized a Christmas event last Tuesday with a putz narrated by Rev. Sam Zeller depicting Bethlehem scenes and the adoration of the Christ child. Lighting and carols heightened the display followed by a tea hosted by the women’s group.

The Nazareth Moravian Council election held this day elected officers and trustees. Edward Loux and Edward Kern named to leading roles with Sam Henry and Albert Sturgis among the officers. Fred Kern serves as secretary and treasurer.
Due to conflicting dates of local events there will be no PTA meeting this evening. The association announces there will be no December meeting, with routine matters to be handled at the next meeting on January 12 1939.
The Senior Luther League of St John’s Lutheran Church will present a Christmas program on Monday December 19 at 7 30 PM. Miss Miriam Anangst Lincoln girl and Susquehanna University student will speak on A Christian’s Observance of Christmas.

The Merchants Association announced Seth will deliver at least a thousand gift packages to children eight and under at 7 30 tonight. Weather permitting he will parade the town and park his sleigh at the Nasareth Inn to finish distribution. The Nazareth Merchants Association sponsors this event with a light system set to turn on, and the Magaget Choral Society and Moravian Trombone Choir will join in Christmas carols from the inn veranda after Santa's tour.
