Bazaar Sponsored By Girl Scouts Held In Local Area

A Christmas bazaar sponsored by the local Girl Scout troops and Brownie packs was held Saturday in the M C A. Nine booths operated by the Mothers Auxiliary Council two Brownie packs and five by various troops. The Brownie groups performed a by turn reminiscent of fifty years ago. Miss Steiner entertained with selections.

Nazareth School Board Forms for 1939 Year

The Nazareth School Board held its annual organization meeting with all members present. Elwood J. Unangst named temporary chairman, and Wm. Bened is re elected by the President for the year. Committee picks include Buildings with Russell Snyder and Frank B Leh and Grounds with Elwood J Unangst and Robert Pauly Bennett Jr. The President serves on the Sinking Fund Committee. Regular December meeting set for next Monday evening, December 4.

Northampton County PTA Sessions in Nazareth Highlight Past for Future

An all day Northampton County Council PTA session was held Saturday at Nazareth High School under the theme Past for the Future. The program opened with music by Mrs Meyer and Mrs Batt, and featured Ernest Wilkins as welcome speaker, George A Grim addressing county schools, L Sebring speaking in the afternoon, and Mrs P Boe of Pittsburgh concluding as state PTA president.

At a Moravian Church supper meeting in the social rooms teachers and officers were elected including Superintendent C Jin assistant Miss G Bahneen secretary treasurer ge librarian Earl Stroi and superintendent beginner Bre Bar Stroman. The Young People League met for a covered dish social with speakers, toasts, piano, solos, and a calithumpian band by local couples.

Annual Rural Talent Festival Opens in Tatamy Cast Listed

Local Man Receives Purple Heart Honor

Matthew Morrow, a local Post Office employee, was awarded the Purple Heart by the U S Government for bravery and wounds in action during World War I. He served in the 37th Division, 147th Regiment Machine Gun Company, and was wounded twice in the Argonne Forest engagement. The presentation surprised him and fellow Legion Post members. The piece also notes the Rid es' Christmas party plans and local Rebekah Lodge activities.
