Russell Lambert of Nazareth Pa returned from Camp Perry Ohio with top honors in the national small bore rifle tournament. He scored 399 to 400 and totaled 7950 points out of 8000 in the International Dewar match, shattering the world record. He was part of a U S small bore rifle team that included Crosley Woodring Israelson Bond Hamby Hoppe Kallansee Schiller Lippencott Garison Kuhn Blensing er Randle Samsee Schweitzer Moore Westfall Mundy Lambert Wilson. The competition drew teams from Australia South Africa India and Canada.

Anne Breinig and Maybelle Happel hosted a scavenger hunt and doggie roast at the Happel summer cottage near Bushkill Center Saturday evening. Local and out of town guests attended and winners included Dorothy Weasels, Gladys Walker, Stanley Eilenberger, and Irvin Uhler. A two week tour of the New England States and Canada was planned by Mr and Mrs Charles Anglemire Ruth Anglemire and Harold Troxell.
The Kessler family held its first annual reunion at Breidinger’s grove with many members present. Harold Bauer and pupils Elwood Kessler and Elwood Ackerman performed guitar and harmonica selections. Officers elected Mil ton Williamson president Stanley Snyder vice president Hattie Kessler secretary Charles Hildebrand treasurer Harvey Kesser historian. A second reunion was set for the fourth Saturday in August at the same site.
The Brotherhood of the Hecktown Church will hold a picnic in the church grove on Saturday September 1. The Junior Concert Band of Hellertown will furnish the music.

Mr and Mrs Nagle Mr and Mrs Gump Mr and Mrs Brass returned from Erie where they attended the American Legion and American Legion Auxiliary convention. Highlights included speeches by Mrs Ray Beister National President and Governor Pinchot among others. Wilkes Barre will host the 1935 convention. The three day session closed with a four hour military parade and a concluding military ball.
The Nazareth Rotary Club met in the Y dining room for a weekly dinner session. Harry Richenbach presented the district governor of the 50th Rotary District who urged fellowship and service. The United States Civil Service Commission lists open competitive exams for junior civil service examiner, junior technologist in milling and baking, and associate or assistant cotton technologists. Closing dates range to September 20 1934 with salaries from 1620 to 3800 dollars.
The New Village Musketeers will provide music at the Bushkill M. E. Ladies Aid picnic in Bushkil Center Grove on Saturday September 1. The P. O. of A. Camp 315 held a Friday meeting led by President Mrs. Hazel Ttterly. The degree team initiated six candidates and awards were given in radio games with prizes to multiple members. An evening service led by Rev H. J. Ehret is planned for 10:30 with social time and remarks from district president Stella Hawk.
