John Sandholm convicted of stabbing bartender J Hector at the Prospect House after a drunken brawl among Finns and Swedes. He received six months in jail with hard labor. Witnesses testified to a proposed second knife attack as he tried to escape en route to jail.

Three men in a rowboat found a mid age man dead near the water's edge at Albert Point after he appears to have walked toward the head of the lake and frozen to death. The body could not be retrieved due to rough water. Provincial Officer Fauquier plans to transport the remains down for interment aboard the Arrow.
