Early Monday evening at Madden House a chef named Joe Lebby suffered a severe facial scald when hot pork fat flashed up as he lifted a pan from the range. He dropped the pan and the boiling fat struck his face, but flour and cooling treatments limited blistering. Lebby declined medical aid, enduring the pain.

No Trains Running Between Revelstoke And Green Slide

The RG&AL line from Revelstoke to the Green Slide is shut for winter with no freight expected to move by rail until spring. All freight for Kootenay points is at the end of the track and will be hauled by teams to the lake. The Arrow steamer will operate to the head of the lake all winter for passengers and freight. Two carloads of cattle from Calgary bound for McInnes of Three Forks are due on the next boat, with ten head left for J Ehrmanntraut.
