Life on the Road From Victoria to Nakusp

Pleasant Social Event at Prospect House Dance

Last Friday night a large town dancing party at Prospect House drew almost every family. Dancing ran from 9 PM to 4 15 AM with guests reluctant to leave. Messrs Nault provided a fine midnight collation and added to the festive mood.

Liquor Heist Nets Dismissal With Costs

Tony the Italian helper at the Nakusp House was held up by highwaysmen and robbed of two bottles of liquor. Warrants were issued for A Littlejorm and M Condon. Littlejorm’s preliminary trial was adjourned and bail set at 890 pounds. A hearing failed to prove a case and both were discharged.

In the Bastile We Went to New Westminster Jail

Report from New Westminster describes an visit to the jail where 39 inmates were present, 38 of whom were said to be innocent. EE Coy known as Kaslo Don Juan claimed innocence and spoke of prison officials, delays, and plans to leave the country.
