West Kootenay member J M Kellie pushes three resolutions in the Legislature seeking removal of navigation obstructions at Death Rapids to Revelstoke, a colonized call for a resident county judge, and repeal or reduction of a five dollar per acre payment on mining claims in the 20 mile belt. Kellie also backs a bill for tramway telegraph and telephone company incorporation and supports a measure to cut duties on rubber goods and mining machinery.
Provincial Officer Fauquier reports the disappearance of a Swede named Jensen. Last seen over a week ago leaving the Leland House after a brief stop, then at the Prospect House where he drew more than $40 from Mr Nault before heading toward town center. No trace since, sobriety at the time noted, fate uncertain whether he left town or wandered into the woods.
