Unusual accident injures local youth in farm mishap
While helping wheel milk to the road Sunday morning, Jack Mayse, oldest son of Mr and Mrs Lester Mayse, fell over the wheelbarrow handles and broke both bones near the wrist. His father took him to a Myrtle Point doctor where the fracture was reduced.

Unusual Weather Triggers Fire Alarm at Hardware Store
At about 8 PM Myrtle Point firefighters responded to a fire alarm at H G Volkmer hardware store where living quarters occupy the second story. Volkmar and sister, returning from California, started a chimney fire to adjust to Oregon’s sudden warm spell, smoke proved harmless.
