Barking Logs Cleaned At Longview Weyerhaeuser Plant
Weyerhaeuser Timber Company at Longview unveils a hydraulic bark removal barrier for Douglas fir sawlogs. The system uses two high pressure water jets to strip bark and produce clean wood for sulphate pulp production. The barrier, part of a broader timber utilization program, redirects logs through a by pass and features a prime operator cage and pump units delivering 1300 pounds of pressure.
