Norway Pioneer and Active Citizen Barklow Dies
J R Barklow 71 prominent rancher and dairy man died Saturday at his Norway home after years of declining health. Born May 4 1862 in Stevenson county Illinois he moved with family to Oregon. He served as county superintendent of schools and longtime director on Arago and Myrtle Point school boards. Survived by wife Louisa four children and several siblings. funeral Monday at Methodist church with interment in Norway cemetery.

Severely Burned Worker Receives Injuries at Empire Camp
Walter Huff of Myrtle Point sustained severe burns last week while washing hands in gasoline at the Maurice Rey camp in Empire. The gasoline ignited from exhaust, and Huff beat his hands against his body and rolled to extinguish flames, suffering burns on his hands and body.
