The Browning Carnival arrives with four rides and concessions and arena shows run Saturday through Monday. Sunday morning events are not scheduled.

California Auto Court Sold to Inglewood Couple
The Travelers' Auto Court at Myrtle Point, west entrance, was sold yesterday by owner Mrs. Margaret Hare to Mr. and Mrs. L. M. Billton of Inglewood California. The new owners take possession about October 1 and the deal included the four cottages residence and an acre of land. Mrs. Hare cites overwork and desire for rest as reasons for selling after four profitable years. She plans to remain in the community.

Former Resident Dies In Accident At O Brien Logging Camp
Lee J Watson 29 of Grants Pass formerly lived in Coos county. He was killed last Wednesday when a caterpillar hauling logs at Barton Logging camp overturned and crushed him. Funeral services were in Grants Pass Saturday. Survivors include his parents and several siblings. He was born September 16, 1913 in Hannibal Ohio.

Mr and Mrs Frank Hazlewood receive news that their son Col Arvil Hazlewood piloted an army bomber on August 12 near Seattle Washington. The crew included a general and other personnel. The observation post report was made by Mrs L Aamme and witnessed by local residents. Hazlewood grew up in Myrtle Point and graduated from Myrtle Point Union High.
