The project will require dredging about 630 000 cubic yards of material and must be completed per serial CIVENG 35 026 59 47.

Chet Stitt of 1731 Maple Street was seriously injured Monday afternoon when a water tank slipped off a Catching Creek Mountain road for Leep Logging Co and tumbled down a 300 foot embankment. He survived initial reports of death and was rushed to Mast Hospital in serious but not critical condition with multiple fractures and shock.
Grover Cleveland Moore 73, longtime logger with Smith-Powers Logging Co. of Powers, died suddenly at Eugene Hospital last Thursday. His wife Mrs. Moore preceded him in death eight days earlier. He worked as a high climber until age 70, oldest active in the occupation. Funeral services were held in Roseburg with burial at IOOF Cemetery Canyonville.
Hunters have not submitted reports on their kills and it is impossible to determine a winner in the Jaycee Buck Derby.
Sam Dement was unanimously reelected president of the Coos County Fair Association for 1959 at the annual meeting held in the 4-H building with 29 attendees representing 185 shares of 265. Officers Lee Barklow Harold Clarno and V A Roush were also reappointed, continuing seven to eleven years in their roles.
A local stockman was re-elected president at the county fair meeting. Community members noted continued leadership and support for agricultural shows and market programs during the event held this week.
Georgianna Vaughn county clerk announces polling stations and hours for the upcoming general election. Polls run 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Absentee voting details include Precinct 38 Dora Dora School and 36 Gravel Ford Precinct at the Gravel Ford Community building, Rose Powers at Pobekah hall, Norway Grange No. 51, Catching Creek Myrtle Point Gun Club, Gravelford road, Myrtle Point City Hall for precincts 54 and 55 Myrtle Point Union.
