She married James Stevens at her home in Georgia and moved to Oregon where he farmed and served as Brethren church minister. Survived by six children Cora Barklow Roy Stevens Steven a Sophia Hale and E Stevens. 14 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Burial in Norway cemetery scheduled after children arrive from Eugene.

Mrs E J Schneider Mrs A C Chase Mrs Elmer Wussell Mrs A M Sunstrup and Mrs G E B Hamilton left Tuesday morning for the northern part of the state. They will visit Carolyn Schneider at Willamette University Salem and attend the meeting of Women Clubs of Oregon Meld im Eugene. The party returns Thursday evening with Carolyn Schneider visiting her parents until Sunday.
Garden club members held a strong turnout Tuesday and voted to meet once a month for three months on the second Tuesday. They aim to improve the town’s gardens and lawns at Myrtle Point with parking and unsightly spots cleaned and planted. The group thanks Mr. Dodge for providing a comfortable hall.
Next Tuesday election day prompts both banks in Myrtle Point to remain closed all day. Bank of Myrtle Point and Security Bank will not operate as voters head to polls.
The Legion and Auxiliary Elact held a seven o clock pot luck dinner in Schroeder's to honor Hillis the secretary Shindell the treasurer Hilda Bargett the chaplain Lalu Jarvis the sergeant at arms Jerry Lant the installing officer and Mrs Chapman the president of the COquille unit. The business meeting was followed by a dance attended by many from Coquille and nearby areas.
George Rogers suffered broken shoulder bones and two ribs when a 2x12 timber fell on him while tearing down his burned house. He remained unconscious at Mast hospital from Thursday afternoon until Friday noon.
Tuesday afternoon Mrs Ralph Pring entertained members at her home on Street Avenue with a tea and social gathering.
