Fall Arrives Inspiring Poetic Reflections On 1952
RamblingS LANS LENEVE FALL HAS ARRIVED Time is forever on the wine how fast it flies. It is hard to realize that 365 days lie behind us since we inserted a sheet of paper in the old typewriter and proclaimed the fact that fall had arrived for the year of 1952. The breaking up a tough winter, the warmth of springtime sun shine, budding flowers and the song of birds are always welcomed, but somehow they fail to compare to us as does the coming of fall, for we consider it the most beautiful season of the entire year. It awakens within us the poetical side of our nature, if we may be allowed to believe we possess such, and if we were a poet we would be inspired to write reams of verse concerning the advent of that mystic season fall. Fall is truly an inspiration to us. It prompts us to go all out in an effort to write pertaining to its wonders, but mere words elude us in describing it-its beauties. Continued on Page Nine.

More than 100 people attended the Myrtle Point Lions 25th anniversary banquet at the Myrtle Hotel Wednesday evening. Charter members P. O. Lund Wallace Dement W. E. Lundy and active member Elton Schroeder were honored alongside District Governor Dr. Lee Mellish. The program featured speeches music and Lions songs led by Arnold Melby Russ Dement and E C Roberts with Miss Garnet Fleckenstein and Dr Robert Ley performing. Mayor Jack Dunn served as master of ceremonies and Elton Schroeder received a 25 year Charter Chevron Monarch pin.

McKinley Grange Ladies Win State Quilting Contest
McKinley Grange ladies from No 582 near Myrtle Point Oregon won top honors in the National Grange 1953 sewing contest with a Boston Commons themed quilt judged October 15 at state grange headquarters. Fifteen members worked under Marie Churchill with judges Carolyn Danson and Catherine Laughton. The quilt may be presented to the governor's wife, Mrs Paul Patterson, unless it wins nationally where Mamie Eisenhower would receive the top prize.

Drivers Reminded of Law on Passing School Buses
Coquille notes rising complaints about school bus traffic as residents are reminded that a bus load or unload is a stop sign. On two lane roads all traffic must stop before the bus, and on multi lane roads the opposite direction must stop if children cross. Bus drivers may signal to proceed by lowering the stop arm with caution.
