An injured driver and an upset passenger were involved when a Clarke car collided with a pacing vehicle on Reed Road. The two parties moved on after the incident with no further details available.
The Coos County Pomona Grange met at McKinley on Oct 13 voted to aid the Bandon Grange with fire loss relief and condemned burning obstacles on lands. They urged improved burning laws to reduce fire hazards, boost idle land productivity, and ease tax burdens. Notables included Hay Dedmund, H Wotgant, Arthur Brown, and Henry Gustafson.
Charles Mack of Bridge left Friday evening for Portland and entered St Vincents hospital Saturday for a bone operation on his hip. He has been in ill health since an accident at the Hag Edorn camp two years ago when a log rolled over him crushing his pelvis. Physicians plan to graft bone onto the injured area.
An officers training session will be held at Coquille city hall on October 30 to instruct officers from local groups in parliamentary procedure. Mia Azalea Sager from Corvallis will lead the program from 10 30 a m to 3 p m covering presidents vice presidents secretaries and treasurers.
A vehicle in Brewster Valley driven by Mr B struck a bank after a broken car spring jammed the steering. The car toppled onto its side but occupants including a woman and her child escaped serious injuries.
The Myrtle Point High school junior class will present a skit from What Am I Been Brought Home at the Woman's club meeting in the city hall Monday afternoon. Mrs. A. W. Bell will read a paper on Law Enforcement while Mrs. Watter Laird speaks on the program with City Attorney Wallace assisting.
Myrtle Point Chamber of Commerce held a re meeting at Hamm s Cafe with about two dozen in attendance. A committee led by Schroeder Linn and Roberts was formed to raise funds for Bandon teachers salaries and support local schools. Sam Dement spoke on a pest boys trip to Portland expo and Edgar Rickard discussed Friday football game against Coquille. Proclamation set business closures 2 to 4 pm and the chamber paid $10 for cot transport to Bandon fire victims. Residents asked to notify L L Powers of Myrtlewood requests.
M Pt Grange and Myrtle Orange met Tuesday evening in the V and W hall with about 23 in attendance. W Lee Ray spoke on measures to be voted on in the upcoming election. The next meeting is set for the first Tuesday in November.
Mitt Taggart and his 12 member band will play at a Community building dance in Coquille this Saturday night October 24. The famous recording and broadcasting group, author of Springtime in the Rockies, recently completed a successful east tour.

Pressey cited Meridian Idaho as a successful model with a $100000 initial investment growing to $300000 and a $100000 reserve. About 3000 cows would be ideal, with 2000 as a minimum, funding via stock sales and bank credit.
Jimmie Powers, once the town undertaker, is now the proud father of a 60 pound baby. He and Mrs. Powers are doing well, though the strain has left him worn and whispering with worry yesterday. The infant is reported resting and in good condition this morning.

Coos county Republicans announce a rally and dinner at the North Bend hotel next Tuesday night October 27. L J Simpson, GOP activities chairman, says a leading Oregon speaker will attend the banquet and Republican candidates from Coos and Curry counties are invited to be introduced but not speak. The program aims to be brief and lively.

A final ally of Coos county Democrats will speak at the Odd Fellows building in North Bend tomorrow night at 8. County candidates will present summaries of their platforms. C Carlson, president of the Oregon Young Democratic League, will be the principal speaker. The event is sponsored by the Coos County Young Democratic League and urged for attendance by party figures and the public.
Mrs Joe Mast is recovering from neuritis in her shoulder and a temporary loss of use of her left arm after a deep ax cut suffered two weeks ago while chopping wood on Gravelford road. A neighbor visiting at the time saved her from critical blood loss. stitches were required and Dr Mast with a nurse arrived within minutes after she reached the house.
Loren Knight 44 of Bridge found guilty after 90 minutes of deliberation of larceny of livestock. Knight received up to five years in state prison. his motion for a new trial was filed. Co defendants Loomis Bell Teens Myste Point Johnson Powers also tied to the cases from June 10 and related thefts in the area.
Martha Lindley of Powers died Sunday after an illness of nearly a year. Born October 36 1884 in Germany she studied in Oregon Idaho earning a BA at the University of Idaho and a Masters from Cornell. Survived by two sons Marion and Edward, father August Sempert, brothers Alfred and E O Sempert, sister Mrs Emma McGrew. body sent to Portland for funeral beside husband in Lincoln Memorial cemetery.

The candidate with over eighteen years of experience in the field has spent recent weeks in motor clinics and accompanied a colleague to Fortland for arrangements toward securing a home in the city.
Mrs Sem Reet of Arage escaped injury last Thursday when a tree toppled across her car while she drove toward Ceguill. A crashing noise behind her prompted her to speed up, and the impact only damaged the trunk at the rear of the vehicle.
