Prizes this week include two free reserved seats to the Oregon vs California game on November 13.

A forum to discuss the recall of County Commissioner J J Geaney will be held at 2 pm Sunday in the McKinley Grange hall. Elton Schroeder of Citizens For Responsible Government announced the event and urged both parties to participate. Ivan Laird will chair the discussion and attendees may ask questions on the issue.

Eight Myrtle Point high school girls prepare garments for the Sew It With Wool contest on November 6 in the Bohemian room at the Tioga Hotel Coos Bay. Garments must be 106 percent wool or accepted wool fibers and entirely self made. Contestants include Karen Dawson Sherron Floyd Carol Gassman Sheryl Huntley Joyce Lillie Becky Mast Phyliss Pillette and Linda Southmayd.

Eric Dale son of Mr and Mrs Bill Daving of wee Augmel ina grand y mom of jan Sacred Heart hospital in Ewene underwent skull bone separation. His condition improved and doctors expect he will be able to go home in two weeks. The Dav enports have three other children. Students Take Tests Approximately 50 students at the high school took the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Tests to estimate college ability and guide college selection.

Beaver State Veneer Plant Opens With High Output Plans
Beaver State Veneer Corp completed its first car of green veneer and filled the first truck of chips this week. The plant operates a round table conveyor to boost veneer grading efficiency with 100 workers per shift and aims for 150,000 surface feet daily. It features FinnIsh lathes, a large main building, and a 23000 square foot complex with log storage on seven acres.
