The Myrtle Point area collected 60 pints of blood toward a 90 pint quota last Wednesday afternoon with seven rejections. Mrs Tom Guerin, local chair man, expressed gratitude to donors and workers. A Powers resident Mrs Wilton T Rogers hitchhiked from Powers to donate and returned home.
Dr Robert Ley announces the annual Fall Golf Dinner Dance at Coquille Valley Golf and Country Club. Banquet at 6 pm, refreshment hour 7 to 8, dancing to 1 am, with awards for Fall Golf Tournament winners. All golfers and guests invited to attend this major social event.
Vice President Richard Nixon proposed cutting corporate and personal income taxes as a means to spur economic growth. He argued the tax reform would lift business activity and, despite a $12 billion budget deficit, could increase tax revenues while avoiding delaying needed relief.
