Primary students presented a Thanksgiving program on a Friday afternoon November 21 with Second Grade classes performing songs and a Psalm reading. Joy Mason led the group with Mrs. Gareth and Adeane Bramon aiding. The event included a toy donation drive to Korea organized by Mrs. Fores and Mrs. Glenn Wolff. Rev Robert MacDonald offered a prayer of thanks after the program.
Selden W Warner a Coos County pioneer died after a life in the region born in a log cabin near his home October 30 1963. Funeral services were held Tuesday at Schroeder chapel with Rev Wilmer A Briggs officiating. Burial followed in the family plot at Broadbent. Survivors include five children Fanny Hoffman Myrtle Point James Wiley Kay Cutler Broadbent Eilig Warner Broadbent and Roland Warner Crescent City CA a brother Horace N Warner Coos Bay and a sister Mrs Jeasie Johnson Oakland CA. 16 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He helped settle the Warner farm and was known as a violinist and early mail carrier by rowboat before automobiles and roads.
