Myrtle Grange Elects 1969 Officers at November Meeting

Myrtle Grange 289 elected 1969 officers including master Russell Evans and secretary Eva Stevens at the November 16 gathering. Other roles filled: overseer Orvus Miller, treasurer Lawrence Clinton, lecturer Ruth Evans, chaplain Mrs. Craig Chase, and executive committee Ellis Southmayde John Caudie Emmett Hammack. Ag report by Evans noted a 0.003 cent per quart milk price increase for Grade A producers.

Delbert Starr, 1131 18th, is among 15 OSU Air Force ROTC cadets welcomed into the Arnold Air Society, named for Gen. H. H. Arnold to foster future Air Force officers. Myrtle Point Christmas opening set for November 30

Myrtle Point merchants plan extended hours from December 14 to 21 and host Santa at Security Bank on November 30 December 14 and 21. Prizes include 960 25 and 10 gift certificates plus 12 turkeys with a December 2 drawing at the Hiland Theatre.

Western Oregon Livestock Association Meets in Roseburg

The 33rd annual Western Oregon Livestock Association session will be at the Umpqua Hotel Roseburg November 21 22 23 with Fred Gross Myrtle Point presiding. OSU officials and local leaders will speak at Friday events and committees will convene Thursday afternoon.

Tryout schedule for Little Theatre of the Bay’s My Fair Lady

Casting for the Lerner and Lowe musical has concluded with Roger Moorehead as Professor Higgins and Donna Osborne as Eliza. Hope Cahill directs with Sandy Swanson assisting. Other roles filled include Dean Sheldon as Doolittle and Warren Good as Eyneford-Hill. Performances set for late Feb to early March 1968. Federal milk hearing set for Oregon and Washington

The U S Department of Agriculture will hold a hearing in Portland on December 3 and 4 at the Cosmopolitan and Sheraton sites to discuss a proposed Federal Milk Marketing Order covering most of Oregon and parts of Washington. Oregon dairy cooperatives petitioned, seeking a minimum order to work with the state’s milk stabilization base plan and address interstate price issues.

Broadbent Arago and Bridge School cafeterias will serve Thanksgiving Dinner on Tuesday November 26. Myrtle Crest High School and Dora School cafeterias will serve the Thanksgiving Dinner on Wednesday November 27. Menu includes turkey and cranberries potatoes and gravy hot rolls relish plate pumpkin pie and milk.

Donkey basketball game scheduled at Myrtle Point gym

Myrtle Point FFA hosts a donkey basketball game with FFA boys and FHLA girls on Friday November 28 at 8 00 pm at Myrtle Creek gym. Tickets are 75 cents adults 50 cents students and 25 cents children under 12. A post game ride for kids is planned per Mr E L Roye owner of the donkeys.
