Free chest X ray week urged in Bridge and nearby towns

The Coos County Tuberculosis Health association promotes free chest X rays for anyone over 15 to detect tuberculosis. The X ray bus stops at Schram's store in Bridge, Myrtle Point High School, Perkins Drug Store, Four Mile store, Huling and Lundy, and again at Perkins Saturday with hours posted. Early detection can lead to cure.

Churches To Join Union Thanksgiving Service

Rev. Vernon F. Miller of the Church of the Brethren in Fresno California will deliver the Thanksgiving sermon titled Broken Cisterns or Flowing Fountains. He is the son of local pastor Rev Leo H. Miller and will be hosted at the Lane parsonage with his wife and three children during the Thanksgiving week.

Eugene High School String Orchestra to Sing Here Sunday Evening

The Eugene High School String Orchestra travels to Myrtle Point for a 7 30 performance at Maple School auditorium. Directed by Mr. Tweedie the 26 player ensemble will perform classical and sacred works with solos by violinist and Mr. Miller trumpet and a girls trio. The group makes a three day tour each year visiting Hood River valley and Central Oregon in prior years.
