R C Dement retires as president of a Willamette Valley bank amid a long tenure marked by liberal community values. He remains a director, with N G C W Perkins continuing as vice president and W K Lund succeeding Perkins as vice president. The bank plans to continue serving Myrtle Point.

Mrs Kaufman held high score for the women and Ralph Kring high for the men.
Residents are warned that the fire air siren on Tuesday is for regular fire practice only. The smoke eaters will assemble by the siren as usual, with no cause for alarm.

Oregon motorists will get over 280000 reminder letters as 1935 registration opens. Twelve month private passenger car plates cost five dollars, a low rate held for the second year. Applications may be sent now to receive plates by December 18, with a November 27 drawing for low numbers.
Christian churches of Coos county plan a rally at the Church of Christ in Myrtle Point starting Saturday at 10 a.m. A noon potluck, a 6:30 p.m. lunch, and Christian Endeavor discussions follow. Preaching services will feature four ministers from across the county.

A group from the Red Presbyterian Church held a farewell for Reverend Russell at the church. The Sunday School gave Mrs. Russell a traveling case and Russell a fountain pen. Russell has a Portland address and will report there with his wife after a brief visit.
Marshfield hosts Doric Chapter No 53 as county chapters meet for auction and contract bridge. Myrtle Point attendees include Mr and Mrs Henry Rosslow, Mrs K H Hansen, Mrs R H Lacon, Mrs G L McKay, and Mrs Agnes Kenyon.
On a complaint sworn by state police sergeant Ambrose J. C. Keller appeared before Justice E A Dodge and pleaded guilty to operating a car without an operator's license. He was fined and costs to be paid within days.
Miss Mary Hoover of the Gravelford road and Frank Sinko of Arago were issued a marriage license at the court house Wednesday. The exact wedding time could not be ascertained as the bride was unusually secretive when interviewed by The Herald reporter.
A new bakery, Ley ay A new. bakery, opens Friday in the city, with the Gardner family now residing there. Gardner is vice president of the organization and the owners have renovated the interior and added new equipment to the business.

W W Rhule spent weekend in North Bend. Mrs C B Huling and Mrs Verne Lundy visited Roy Dunham in Peel Seee cavaay. Ariel Donald of Coquille dined with Everett Lafferty. Mrs S L Lafferty of West Norway was guest at Everett Lafferty home. Harr Reed Lafferty’s daughter visited with Mrs George Hampton’s family in town.
