Reports from Coos County veterinarians Dr. R N Stevens of Coquille and W D Morgan of Coos Bay detail 820 herds with 6 619 cows treated for Bangs disease and tuberculosis between July 1 and October 31. Calf vaccination reached 1 649 across 134 herds.

An acetylene tank exploded at the Hermann blacksmith shop on Fourth Street late Monday afternoon. The resulting fire was quickly extinguished, and no injuries or serious damage were reported.
