The Myrtle Crest junior high football banquet at the high school cafetorium celebrated over 130 attendees. 8th graders led by Lavern Noyes and Vic Bushnell organized decorations and food with help from Linda Oyster, Nancy Evans, and others. Maurice Middleton presented the 8th grade squad and 16 players received letter awards, with Lee Walton and David Arment among the recipients.

Lioyd Grant opened with a 59 yard run, Ross Robinson directed a three touchdown second quarter, and John Franzen scored twice. Glide staged a late third quarter rally before Myrtle Point sealed the win with defense and a late Wayne Stout interception.
