Myrtle Crest Football Banquet Honors 8th Grade Letter Winners

The Myrtle Crest junior high football banquet at the high school cafetorium celebrated over 130 attendees. 8th graders led by Lavern Noyes and Vic Bushnell organized decorations and food with help from Linda Oyster, Nancy Evans, and others. Maurice Middleton presented the 8th grade squad and 16 players received letter awards, with Lee Walton and David Arment among the recipients.

Bobcats End 1964 Season With Win Over Glide Wildcats

Myrtle Point closes its grid campaign with a 27-20 home victory over the Glide Wildcats. Lioyd Grant opened with a 59 yard run, Ross Robinson directed a three touchdown second quarter, and John Franzen scored twice. Glide staged a late third quarter rally before Myrtle Point sealed the win with defense and a late Wayne Stout interception.

Coquille Valley Series Opens November 19 At Piano Concert

The Coquille Valley Community Concert Series starts November 19 at 8 13 p m at the Coquille center featuring pianist Thomas Brockman. Brockman, veteran of five European tours, is based in Winter Park Florida and teaches at Rollins College. He has performed with major orchestras in Philadelphia Baltimore Detroit Pittsburgh Atlanta and the National Symphony of Washington. Members without cards by November 13 should contact secretary Miss Inez Rover.

4-H Achievement Night Set for Myrtle Point and Arago

4 H Achievement Night is slated Friday November 13 at Myrtle Crest gymnasium at 8 pm. Pins and apostal awards will be given. A program will be put on by clubs and refreshments served. All parents friends and interested persons in the 4 H program are urged to attend.

Purebred Ewe and Ewe Lamb Sale at Rickreall

The 7th annual Purebred Ewe and Ewe Lamb Sale will be held at the Polk County fairgrounds in Rickreall on November 14 starting at 10 a.m. Roy Benson of Hillsboro will auction 200 head of registered ewes and open ewe lambs from eleven breeds including Romney and Dorset. Don Keesi of Harlan, sale manager, says animals will arrive by preauction time for buyers to evaluate and registration transfers will occur at sale.

Straub presented a lively program blending classical, country, dance, and folk music featuring sounds of a train and a clock. The event occurred in the cafeteria at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

Linda Brown a 1964 University of Oregon graduate and Myzile Point high school alumna has joined Good Housekeeping in New York City within three weeks of arriving. She turned down Playboy after receiving five offers in two weeks, taking an editorial girl Friday role and remarking on Oregon’s relaxed pace.

Rally Girls Plan Friday Departure for San Francisco Game

Rally girls from Myrtle Point big school will leave Friday after school for the 1964 San Francisco 46er football game. A Sunday 10 30 pre game rehearsal and competition will determine who appears on camera for half time. If rain stops the trip. Funds for travel come from rally projects and town donations.

The Myrtle Point high school chapter of the National Honor Society held formal initiation ceremonies for 14 new members in the high school cafeteria on Nov. 10. PTSO Meeting Preview At Myrtle Point High

Myrtle Point PTSO will meet Tuesday November 17 at 8 pm in the high school cafeteria. Basketball coach Jack Reeves will discuss the coming season and wrestling coach Guid Calderazzo will introduce beginning wrestlers. Floyd L Parrish of Springfield former Myrtle Point resident died in Eugene on November 9 after a long illness at age 2 0. Born June 3 1912 near Myrtle Point he was WWII veteran and Moose Lodge member. Services 4:30 pm at Buell Chapel with Rev Keller officiating. Myrtle Grange Pacific International Booth Attracts Thousands

The Pacific International booth for Coos county, led by Mrs. Paul L. Davis, showcased Coos industry with a 10 by 20 panelled setup. Volunteers Emmett Hammack, Ellis Southmayd, Stanton Stevens aided, while items from Bridge Grange, Mytlewood, Brodie Shingle and Leepa filled the display. A live myrtle tree donated by Mrs. Claude Randlemen went to Delta Park after the fair.
