Youths Wanted For Harvest This Summer
Oregon seeks more harvest help this year with volunteers organized into youth platoons. About 26 to 40 youths per group work under adult leaders beginning in June to pick crops like strawberries. School officials cooperate in recruiting youths and some mothers join as adult platoon leaders. Adults may enroll as paid leaders through county farm labor offices.
