Myrtle Point High School plans graduation activities for 74 seniors starting Sunday May 26 in the cafeteria with bac calaureate services. Rev. John Wood will speak, assisted by five area pastors. The high school girls choir will sing Let There Be Peace on Earth. Commencement exercises follow May 29 at 8 p.m. in the gym with Valedictorians Becky Carl and Richard G assembly man Gase man and Lindsay Hauschildt as salutatorian. Hugh G. Simpson of Southern Oregon College will address the graduates.

City budget approved in joint session lowers spending
The budget committee and city council approved a 1963 64 operating budget of 196000 dollars in a Monday joint session. Manager Ben Nichols said the figure is about 98000 less than the prior year and the lowest amount to maintain current services with 500 dollars earmarked for a library card file and other library expenditures.

Memorial Day Services Held Amid Cemetery Cleanups
