Rainbow Girls Sell Poppies For Veterans In Myrtle Point
Rainbow Girls and American Legion Auxiliary students distribute Legion Poppies in Myrtle Point on Friday and Saturday May 24 and 25. Poppies are handmade by disabled veterans with payments of 2 percent per poppy to makers and 10 cents per member to the local unit. the rest funds Child Welfare and rehabilitation. Last year the Myrtle Point unit raised $982 for Child Welfare. Wear a poppy as remembrance of veterans and their sacrifices.

George McDonald Dies at 34 After Short Illness
George McDonald 34 died at his home Tuesday morning after a seven year battle with diabetes. He was purchasing agent and clerk at Security Bank until Monday noon. Born July 25 1923 in Bremerton Washington he lived much of his life in Coos County and was a World War II Navy veteran. Funeral services scheduled at Derer's Chapel.
