Graduation exercises for the class of 1950 will be held on Wednesday May 24 at 8 00 p m in the high school gym. Forty eight seniors will receive diplomas with Marshall Dana as the commencement speaker. Dana is the managing editor of the Oregon Journal. Diplomas will be awarded by Paul Breuer and awards by G B Goddard. Laura Shelton had the highest average and Jennie Zinn the second among the seniors.

Poppy Days Planned in Myrtle Point Next Week

Local Legion Auxiliary members distribute Poppy Cards to businesses in Myrtle Point Bridge and Broadbent to advertise Poppy Day. Poppies will be sold to aid veterans families and child welfare with Girl Scouts helping to ensure access. Funds stay in state hospitals with volunteers and 2c per poppy to participating hosice. $53.75 was donated by local business people during card distribution.
