A health note stresses appetizing meals and dairy use, especially milk and butter, as essential to nutrition and satisfaction. Recipes and tips follow for butter rich dishes, eggs, cheese sauces, spinach and noodles, and a gingerbread treat, with brief local notices about Powers and Bobby Wilson’s health.
The notice lists social gatherings and church activities including weddings at Harvard churches on weekend evenings. Names such as Mr Earl Adams and Mrs Elien Kang are mentioned with schedule hints and guest lists.
Mischa Melton aged 33 died Monday after a three week illness from spinal meningitis. She was brought home from Crescent City in critical condition and later moved to Mast Hospital. Survived by husband and siblings, numerous relatives. Funeral arrangements pending.
Alan O born May 8 to Mr and Mrs Lloyd Morris of Remote. The birth is recorded in the local notice creating a new addition to the Morris family.
Tear Powers brought to hospital with injured left shoulder. Sam Dement cuts left foot with an axe at Eckley ranch and foot bandaged. Charles McDowell treated for head and back injuries from a near Coquille auto crash. Mrs England recently had abdominal operation and left hospital Saturday. Ellis Barker treated for infested foot and discharged this week. Hayes born patient had right kidney operation and is doing well. Ruth Anderson recovering from recent appendectomy and in good condition. Buckner Terman injured when horse bucked near town during polo. A Hatherd of Pudge injured causing remains unclear. Notices warn of pollution and other legal postings dated 1954.
In Oregon on July 3 1934 a final three year proof hearing is set before a US Commissioner. The claimant Wm Olson Rube Cotton Charles Buller and Mr Manard, all of Dora Oregon, witness to establish a land claim in Section 23 Township 28 South Range 1 West Willamette meridian.
