Army enlists for two assignments from Coos Bay station
The 36th FA Bn 155 GT gyroscope unit will depart Fort Sill Oklahoma for Europe on 15 February 1958. Sfc Richard L Johnson of Coos Bay ARS says enlistments are open until 15 July 1957 for this unit with processing at Fort Ord California. Enlistees will be shipped to Fort Ord for reception and basic training then to the 36th FA Bn 155 GT. The 3rd Infantry Division will depart Fort Benning Georgia for Europe with waves in March April and May 1958. Enlistments close 15 October 1957 for assignment to this unit, with processing at Fort Ord and final duty at Fort Benning.
