Second Annual Teen Age Road-e-o Invites Local Teens
Teen age drivers from Myrtle Point Powers Coquille and Band on invited to participate in the second annual Road-e-o at Coquille high school on May 18 sponsored by the Coquille Junior Chamber of Commerce. Entrants must have a learner permit or license with no moving violations in six months. Written tests are scheduled for May 8 at each school with top four from each school advancing to the drive off. Last year’s winner was Carol Montgomery.

FCC Ruling Halts Myrtle Point TV Translator Plan
The Federal Communications Commission ruled Washington DC on April 24 that Myrtle Point cannot install a TV translator system as KVAL Eugene begins broadcasting from Coos Bay as Channel 11. Translators would be barred where a regular TV station operates and must cease when a local TV station starts. Comments are due by June 3, 1957.

Union High School Budget Election May 4 Vote
Voters in the Union High School district will decide on May 4 from 2 to 8 PM whether to approve paying the portion of the budget above the 6 percent limit amounting to 105 714 66 dollars. The district lowers overall property tax for this year though capital outlay shows the largest increase to finish work from new construction and furnish facilities.
