Coos county set to crown a Queen of the Rebe and Goddess of Liberty at Myrtle Point fair this July Fourth. Broadbent May 1 Special Mrs Thomas Forrest of Broadbent has received papers from the first assistant postmaster official action naming her as postmistress pending final approval and ceremonial duties.
4 H club summer school opens Monday June 8 on the State college campus at Corvallis. Coos county delegates must register by May 18. Scholarships cost 12 dollars for members and 11 for leaders with round trip transport about 3 50. About 2 000 members expected. lodging provided. personal items and bedding needed. Health service available. contagious cases advised against enrollment. Last year 50 Coos members attended aided by local groups. fundraisers urged to sponsor scholarships. Also reports injuries and local staff changes.
Eight lamb shows arranged by H A Lindgren from Oregon State College in cooperation with county agents and local leaders. Sherman and Polk start May 10 at Moro and Monmouth, with Wil lamette valley emphasis on Monmouth. Lane at Junction City May 17, Linn at Solo May 24, Marion Turner June 7, Coos Myrtle Point June 2, Curty Gold Beach July 12, Baker July 18.
