Sharon Howe Elected President of Local School

Sharon Howe has been elected as the third girl student body president in the school’s history for 1964-65. Other officers include Bob Howell Linda Warner secretary Kathy Barklow treasurer Bob Hyatt sergeant at arms and Betsy Thompson varsity yell queen with Kathy Franzen Jan Henry Kathy Winkleman Susan Gross Vickie Abel and Janet Clarno as coleaders.

Port Candidate Clarence Port Seeks Write-In Victory

Clarence Ralph Port, serving with the Port of Coquille River to fill a vacancy from Bill Tankersley, runs as a write-in for one of four vacancies. Explorer Scout banquet names new officers and honors

Ray Danials was announced as the news at the Explorer Scout banquet held for all parents. New officers include Dennis Sullivan vice president Larry Eppler secretary Ben Wells treasurer Joe Buchanan quartermaster John McCaffree chaplain Vic Murray and Larry Meier cabinet representatives. Outgoing president Dick Meoney received a plaque as outstanding Explorer for 1983 64 and Loyd Wells earned honorary Explorer membership for service to the Post Temple. Joe Buchanan earned the Star Scout rank and is pursuing Life and Eagle honors as Scout master Vern Wertz noted.

Land Elected President Of Coos County Livestock Group

Monte Land was reelected president of the Coos County Livestock Marketing Association at a brief post annual meeting session. Calea Rankin and Keith Bushnell were elected to three year terms as directors. The board will set sale prices for Coos Curry Auction Yard in Bandon and a wool pool was discussed for next year.
