Tree Damage Cuts Telephones On Bridge Road
A tree fell while T. A. Brack was cutting timber on his Bridge road property Tuesday, taking down three West Coast Telephone Company lines and all Pacific Telephone lines in the area. Local exchange crews were notified at noon and quickly repaired the damage restoring communication in a short time.

Myrtle Point Union high school earned third place in the statewide typing contest held in Corvallis on April 29. Edwingth Peel won third in the novice division and Selma Latham third in the amateur division. the school received a silver cup and banner while Tigard won first and Ashland second with Dallas honored as well.

The April library report shows adult loans at 1015 and children's loans at 234 with 10 loans from the state library. Receipts from pay books and overdue books total 4.48 dollars. Oregon Rules Allow Slash Burning Before May Fifteenth
Oregon Forest Laws permit burning slashings without permit until May 15.
