Boy Scouts Plan Father and Son Banquet Program

Starting last Friday March 28th the Pacific Greyhound Lines relinquished a mail contract portion to Central Transfer Co of Bandon handling all mail from Marshfield to Myrtle Point and Powers. Formerly Liggett Bros served Myrtle Point to Powers and Greyhound Lines continue to carry first class mail between Marsh Meld and Roseburg with no schedule changes.

Mrs Donald Gibbs entered the hospital for medical treatment late last week and shows improvement. Mrs Glenn Compton of Powers welcomed an eight pound baby boy named Glenn Vernon last Thursday. Gerald Gwillim, 25 years old, of Coquille, was admitted for medical care. Mrs Schroeder’s ambulance brought Nelson recovered from recon work home in Coquille last Friday. W H Taylor of Myrtle Point, a Win Weekly camp worker, injured knee Saturday. Peter Rookard of the Win Weekly logging camp received a bad ax cut on the foot Saturday. Dickie Emery, nine, son of Bud Emery, broke his arm while playing on a swing Sunday. Mrs James Hobson is hospitalized since Sunday for treatment. Louis Williams had trays taken Monday revealing a broken right jaw and linear fracture near the right temple. he is improving. Mrs Helen Endicott was discharged Tuesday after surgery last week. Mrs Wm Gurney had chest surgery for pleurisy and effusion from flu and is resting. Mrs B Van Fossen was moved home Wednesday and is improving rapidly.
