Local forestry students top Coos County Skilly Day
Inyrtie Point's Forestry class hosted the first annual Coos County Forestry Skilly Day with Marshfield North Bend Reedsport and Myrtle Point students. Five events choker setting tool identification log scaling compass and pacing and tree identification awarded five places each. Myrtle Point students won five of 15 places led by Chuck Kasper Jon Reed Neale Duren. First place winners earned a double bitted axe and a 25 SWOCC scholarship. second place earned a hard hat. Axes and hats donated by local merchants.
