Myrtle Point High School senior Steve Moon earned a rating in the solo and ensemble contest held March 10 in Coos Bay and was chosen as alternate trumpet soloist for the Oregon state solo contest to be held the last weekend in April at the University of Oregon. Moon is the son of Mr and Mrs Ed Moon of Myrtle Point.
