Sheridan high school principal Ernest Davenport, son of Mr and Mrs A R Davenport, was named president of the Oregon Secondary School Principals association. He serves as former vice president and attended the national meeting in Miami Beach with his family. The group aims to improve high school instruction in Oregon and promote vocational education through regional workshops. Davenport is in his eighth year at Sheridan, five as principal, a Linfield College graduate with a 1967 master’s degree from the University of Oregon.

Officials to Meet Over Coquille River Erosion Issues

Representative James B Bedingfield said J H Campbell of 2013 Mc Pherson North Bend will be reappointed to the State Board of Funeral Directors and Embalmers. Bruce Weathers Dies In Auto Accident
Bruce Edwin Weathers 28 died in a one car crash at 2 am Saturday March 6 one and one half miles east of Bridge twelve miles from Myrtle Point. The car slid off the highway struck a rock earth bank rolled and ended inverted. He died on arrival at the hospital. Services were held March 9 at Schroeder's chapel Myrtle Point with burial in Norway Cemetery. He was born February 16 1940 in Hood River and lived in Remote. Surviving are his wife Ann and children Michael Bandan and Gary parents Mr and Mrs Henry Weathers and siblings Thomas Bend Paul Powers James Virginia Melton.
