Homemakers Plan Camp And Election Of Officers
The lar meeting of the eos County Economics Extension Advisory committee was held Saturday in Coquille to elect officers and plan the homemaker vacation camp at Lake Cleavox August 1 to 6. Officers include Mrs McCue chairwoman Mrs Henkem vice chairwoman Mrs Norris secretary treasurer and others in charge of foods fabrics and recreation. The camp will feature rest arts crafts music drama nature work and after discussions by notable speakers.

A July first dinner party at Adrien Schroeder's home in Ophir ended with Bart Gasner losing an eye after a firecracker explodes while being tossed into the lawn. Schroeder transported Gasner to a Gold Beach hospital where doctors determined the eye could not be saved.

Bridge Woman Frances Cribbins Dies After Illness
Frances Jane Cribbins died Sunday June 25 1939 at Mast hospital after a brief illness. Born 1863 in Blodgett she lived in Bridge since 1884. She married Richard A Cribbins in 1882 and had eight children, six living, 16 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Surviving siblings include Abe Ward Myrtle Point Jefferson Ward Lew Ward and five sisters. Funeral held June 27 at Schroeder Funeral Home with Rev F H Barr. interment at family place at Bridge.

Blowout Causes Wreck En Route to Myrtle Point
Bert Blondell of Marsh-Meld loses control when a right rear tire blows out on the way from Agness to Myrtle Point Monday morning. The car leaves the road, crashes through a fence at the Rees ranch in Gaylord, and is towed to Myrtle Point. Damage is confined to a jammed radiator and fence posts.
