Mrs Ione Endicott died at home on River Road Myrtle Point at age 71 She was born in Marshfield in 1860 and moved to Myrtle Point as a child She married Walter Endicott in 1901 who was a barber in Myrtle Point He died in 1942 Surviving children include Hazel Heastand Clifford Thorwald Lela Taylor Alice Ciccone Ronald Endicott and LeRoy Endicott Five grandchildren and four great grandchildren also survive Funeral services were held June 27 at Schroeder chapel Rev A Theodore Smith officiating Interment was Sunset Cemetery Coos Bay

Train Truck Crash At Crossing Leaves One Dead
One man is dead and another injured after a collision at a railway crossing involving a truck driven by Glen Vigne and his 22 year old brother David. Witness Jack McLeod of Norway reported burns to the hands and face in the immediate aftermath. The injured were taken to Mast Hospital where David is listed as recovering.

Driver Killed When Truck Rolls Over Embankment
William Arnold Potter of Empire was killed when his truck rolled off a 25 foot embankment near Norway three miles up the grade. Potter had stopped to talk to a fellow driver and ran to halt the runaway unit. the trailer lodged as the truck plunged down. He was a WWII Navy veteran, survived by wife Lovella two children, and was employed hauling logs for Ralph Hawk. Services held in North Bend with Elder L D McCartney officiating.
