The Grees Brothers lumber mill near Myrtle Point was sold to Beet Taylor and Wallace Taylor of Coos Bay. They take over July first with 14 workers and a daily output of 40,000 to 546,000 feet. Fred and William Grees remain employed in logging.
Bill Head outlines new power arrangements for Coos County. The company now has three sources: its own, Oregon-California Power, and Bonneville Power, reducing outages during emergencies. A Myrtle Point publicity pamphlet detailing these plans and local events was distributed, with free copies available from The Herald office.
