All-Star Team To Play Here Sunday July 6
An all-star baseball team from the Southwestern Oregon league will play at Myrtle Point Sunday morning July 6 at 10:00 a.m. The lineup combines Myrtle Point Powers and Coquille players against a seven-nation group. Bandon and Coquille remain league leaders after last Sunday’s results as Myrtle Point suffered a 13 to 0 loss at Powers.

Public Address System Boosts Rodeo and Theatre Events
Austin Dodza of the Hiland Theatre bought an RCA high fidelity mobile public address system for the Rodeo Association. The unit can be car mounted or stand alone and is usable indoors or outdoors. It broadcasts voices or records and is used by the US Army maneuvers. It will travel Coos county to promote the rodeo and will be leased for special occasions at the theatre and fair associations.

Lions Install New Officers at Myrtle Point Club
The Myrtle Point Lions Club installed Ed Roberts as president and welcomed four new members Cville Haga Roderick Hermann Larry Gardner and Harvey Morehouse at a Wednesday luncheon. The group will run the log bucking contest for the rodeo July 6 and enter a float in the July 4 parade. They plan to fix benches and tables in the city park and sent delegations to Roseburg and Coquille clubs to promote the rodeo. Mrs Florence Adams of the Mast hospital will move to Salem July 1 for her husband’s new job.
