Her family tied to early settlers includes Dr Alvin Reed and siblings Mrs Bianda Hill of Dixonville and S&S Reed's father.
Bridge Grange held an unusually well attended session Friday evening with all officers present. Mr and Mrs Vern Magill reported on the state Grange meeting at The Dalles. A representative of The Oregon Farmer discussed protective association work. An all day H. EB-wee meeting occurred Wednesday.
Mr and Mrs C A Keltner of Arago announce the marriage of their daughter Ruth to Fred Ray of Portland The bride a Arago High School graduate spent most of her life in Arago Edwin Keltner brother of the bridegroom witnessed the ceremony The Rays will reside in Portland where Mr Ray is employed by a larger company.
The city council ordinance requires parallel parking on Myrtle Point streets with a three hour limit on Spruce street from 8 am to 6 pm and a 24 hour limit on other streets. The measure widens Spruce street to improve traffic safety.
Myrtle Point will host Ward McReynolds state examiner of operators and chauffeurs at city hall next Thursday July 1 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Those seeking driving permits or licenses should contact McReynolds then per the secretary of state office announcement.

Seventeen year old Eloda Krewson was located early Wednesday in the Brewster area after an all night search. She had set out the previous day with plans to traverse the mountains toward Sitkum and said darkness halted her trek. A slight limp remained as she returned home unperturbed.

Coos County land classification plans were discussed by the land classification committee in Coquille. E L Detleifsen chairs the effort to tentatively group county lands by best use such as timber production or grazing. The committee will assess brush burning needs, with ranchers filing reports by July 9 on planned slash burning, ahead of a July 8 meeting in Coquille.
