Dave Burley diverted Snake River water and Julian Clawson pioneered wells and electric pumps to revive the land. Cooperation among farms made the Snake River plain bloom with green from Cassia and Minidoka counties, a testament to the good neighbor philosophy.

The Myrtle Point Troop 99 Explorer Scouts plan a July 6 to July 30 expedition to Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico with eight Myrtle Point, four Arago, one North Bend, and two Eugene boys. They travel by bus driven by Jack Knife and are supervised by Arlo Duncan and Mrs Duncan, camping nightly and cooking their own meals under Scout Rangers.
