Poehlitz Appointed to Oregon Banking Board
Charles Poehlitz executive vice president of Security Bank of Coos County is named to the three member Oregon State Board of Banking for a four year term by Gov. Tom McCall. The board advises the state superintendent of banks and routes industry change requests to the legislature. Announcement came from the governor's office late last week.

Pioneer House Inn to Host Weekend Grand Opening
The Pioneer House Inn at Maryland Avenue and Roseburg Road Myrtle Point will celebrate a grand opening Friday through Sunday with dinners from 6 to 10 pm. Owned by Jack and Lee Dunn, the Victorian house built around 1900 by Ben McMullen will offer lodging and dining. The Dunns bought the property in 1962 after serving as a home for the elderly.
