Volleys and Taps For the Dead Memorial Day Service
American Legion and auxiliary held Memorial Day rites at Myrtle Point cemetery and the bridge. Three volleys fired and taps sounded as wreaths were placed, a flag laid on graves, and a wreath cast on the river in memory of seafarers. Participants included Henry Rowell Ray Campbell Don Tierell Byron Bell Ritchie Francis Lance La Flamme Clay Caffey Tom Caffey Jim Orrell Bill Downing with Patti Parsons and Annabelle Campbell.
