The notice lists Mr. and Mrs. Aviden Warner vacationing in Oskigud California and engineers courses for Wernee. Henry Resshow and companions attend the Grand Chapter in Portland, with several local residents visiting relatives in Seattle and North Bend.
Percy Barcee was named a gate keeper to succeed Roy Shull resigned at the Myrtle Grange meeting in Schroe Der hall Master Frank Southmayd presided. Delegates to the State Grange to be held at McMinnville June 10 to 14 were chosen with a vote to aid travel expenses.

Coos County readies an eastern Oregon round up from July 4 to 6 featuring bulldogging roping bucking and bull riding. Sterling Frorvar manages the event with arrival of local help around June 15. Celebrities include Kenneth DePew Jack Hartman and Pat Fisk. about 25 bucking horses and saddle stock are arriving today. The American Legion and VFW sponsor a queen contest with final election June 18 in Myrtle Point.
Mrs T A Hall entertained the Methodist Ladies Aid of Ler at her Lee home Wednesday. Members from Myrtle Paint attended. After the business session a social hour followed with refreshments.
Ben E. Huntley aged 28 faced Justice E A Dodge on a reckless driving charge. He pleaded guilty and received a $25 fine, now serving in the county jail. Elbert W Dean, from Portland, was charged with reckless driving after a Myrtle Point area accident on May 4, and was fined $25 plus $58 for driving a motor vehicle without a license.
The public is invited to a Gravelford Community hall dance this Saturday evening in June. England's orchestra will provide the music and a nominal admission fee will be charged.
The city council met at night with Mayor Kring presiding. An ordinance was approved to cover costs for repairing the sidewalk in front of Mrs. Cora B. Stedle on Spruce Street. A committee reported the brick building at Spruce Street foot, housing two creameries, was in very bad condition and unsafe due to loose bricks. the property belongs to Andrew Christensen of Corvallis and he will be notified.
Miss Nancy Ruth Young daughter of Rev and Mrs R C Young of Myrtle Point and Howard Rasmussen son of Mr and Mrs E M Rasmussen of Portland united in marriage at the Methodist parsonage. Rev Young officiated with Rev J L Gibson assisting. The ceremony featured an Episcopal service and a reception followed for over 20 relatives and friends. The couple left for a two week honeymoon to Salem and Portland before settling in Coquille where Rasmussen is with Niles Motor Co.
Mies Geraldine Clara Deleman daughter of Mr and Mrs J B Deleman of Catching Inlet and John B E Guenther of Herth Bead wed Rev Father Sieri dan office before a large group of friends. Bride wore her mother's ivory lace wedding dress and orange blossom wreath. Best man was Richard Dellman. They plan a northbound trip then settle in North Bend where Guenther will work. Mrs Guenther known in Arago where she attended high school. her parents later leased the Genzoli ranch and moved to Coos River.
Grover Woods and Lorna Carlson of Winchester Bay were married Saturday by Rev J L Gibson at the Church of God parsonage in this city. Miss Carlson is a granddaughter of Mr and Mrs Willis Hoover of Bandon who formerly resided in South Myrtle Point.
The WCTU assembly met at the Methodist church led by Mrs C C Farr of Coquille to organize new unit activity with a centenary plan for Frances E Willard. Officers elected for Myrtle Point union include L Gibon president and Ray Epperson vice president as Coos County WCTU plans continue through a county institute next Tuesday at the Church of Christ in Coquille.
The Veterans of Foreign Wars announce there will be no Saturday night dances in their hall during the summer season except on special occasions.
Dr J A Benson and his two year old son J A Jr. died in a blaze that destroyed the Benson home in Westfir on Saturday morning Mrs Benson and the infant daughter died a few hours later The doctor suffered severe burns and was taken to a Eugene hospital He had practiced medicine in Myrtle Point for about a year and left that city in late September 1833 The note links Benson as a schoolmate of Dr J D Rankin now practicing in Drquille and states they worked together here
Postmaster Elton Schroeder reports May 1935 postal receipts rose 34 percent from May 1934, aided by a chain letter fad. May 1935 also up 17 percent from April 1935, indicating a steady rise in stamp sales. gross receipts for the first two months of the June 1935 quarter nearly match the June 1934 quarter, missing by 184.
Three year old Jimmy Mack son of Mr and Mrs Charles Mack of Bridge suffered a badly mashed index finger on his right hand when caught in a car door while playing Saturday. He was brought that evening to Mast hospital in Myrtle Point where doctors attempt to save the fingertip which was severed.
A haze over the Upper Coquille valley Wednesday sparked rumors of a large forest fire in Eden Ridge and Eckley country. Coos Bay Lumber Company official W Forrester said the blaze started Wednesday afternoon and is under control.
Rumor says two men, Maghié and Renat, were hurt at the Eden Ridge camp of Coos Bay Lumber over the weekend. The company refused to release details on the extent of the injuries.
Mrs Marion J. Whitney and Charles W Loomis were united in marriage by Elder C H Larklow at his Myrtix Point home Sunday afternoon in the presence of close friends and relatives. After a short honeymoon they make their home on Catehing Cr.
The Myrtle Point Townsend club met at the Round church with President W Lee Ray presiding. Attendees included guests from Coquille and Goshen. The group planned an outdoor Townsend plan address by J E Bennett on July 6 at 11 am, to explain funding and revolving finances.
Mrs. Lyman King of Lee slipped on a wet floor at home last week and fractured the end of her spine. Mr. King was treated at Coquille hospital Saturday and later returned home, where she is said to be improving slowly.
Myrtle Point observed Memorial Day with a parade from city park along Spruce Street to Maple and the VFW hall. Chief of Police Bert Pearson led the procession with G A R Relief and veterans groups. the program included prayers, orders, and musical selections by local quartets and addresses by Legion members, honoring Memorial Day.
Amended drivers license rules require filling out forms and attaching a photo for those applying. Examiner Reynolds will staff Myrtle Point City Hall tomorrow, Friday, June 7, for the process.

A large produce truck carrying goods to a Myrtle Point grocery overturned Sunday after leaving the road near Bridge. The truck ran up a bank, spilled contents and was insured. Ellery Rogers of Roseville California, a passenger, suffered a cut elbow and was treated at Mast hospital in Myrtle Point. Driver was identified as O'Brien.
State college students prepare to return home this week. Edwin Keliner of Arago and a sophomore in agriculture, along with other students from the agriculture and secretarial science tracks, arrived today. Ellen Monrad of Setead and Cornelia Clausen of Broadbent are also expected home soon.
The sale of property for delinquent taxes will be held about June 15 according to C G Callighell of the tax collection department. All property must be sold for exactly the amount of taxes due and no more. It is customary to place bids at that amount for the realty in question.
