Shirley Hickam of Myrtle Point drowned when his boat capsized on Ten Mile Lake near Coquille. Clovis Church, also from Myrtle Point, swam and was saved after going under twice. Hickam’s body was found by Henry Wiebke and brought to Coquille for burial arrangements.
